Eastern Orthodox Community Service Ministries is a Christian
apostolate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church+Kievan Patriarchate and St. Nicholas Orthodox Mission Center,
Belleville, Illinois
The Community Service Ministries (CSM) was initially
established in 1988 by Fr. Ken Anatoly and his assistant, Fr. Stavros Kortmas. It was established after it was
noticed that many persons in early recovery from addictions could not afford formal counseling services, so the ministry was
set up to assist these individuals. As time passed however it became a community outreach program to assist anyone
in need of assistance. Most of the early volunteers came from those who had been helped by CSM and the parishioners
of St. Anthony's and St. Nicholas Orthodox Parish. Their service as CSM Volunteers was their way of saying
"Thank You" to the program that helped them. Following the 12 Step Recovery plan they are people helping people and
in turn helping themselves. The program has provided food programs, coats for kids, annual trips to the
Shriner's Circus, service to the handicapped. They continue to present drug/alcohol education programs, food and
clothing drives, etc. Over the years the program has been honored by three governors, two presidents, and
many other community and political leaders. Pray that God will continue to assist CSM in their Christian Ministry.

CSM IS NOT A TREATMENT PROGRAM OR
PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING SERVICE BUT CSM CAN ASSIST INDIVIDUALS IN FINDING THE SERVICES THEY NEED.
